- How did you get started in the insurance industry?
- I started at a credit union in Newberry, MI around 2003. In 2006, the credit union promoted me to manage the insurance agency they had purchased and owned. My mentor was the previous family that ran the agency for over 35 years and am forever grateful for the ethics and knowledge that was passed on to me from this family.
- When did you begin working with Spire America?
- Due to the plant closing in Newberry where my husband worked, we transferred here to the Petoskey area in 2017. I didn’t take long to pick back up in the insurance industry when a few of my colleagues in the industry had recommended me to Top O’ Michigan.
- What is your current job title and role?
- Commercial lines Account Manager for the Petoskey office. This was another step in my career in addition to personal lines. I work with the TOMIA team to educate and assist clients with insurance solutions for their families and businesses.
About you, personally:
- Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
- I like to experiment in cooking, paint when I have moments alone, and watch the Packers play with my family.
- Tell us about your family!
- I’ve been married for 18 years to my husband Mike and we have two children. Our son, Lucas, is very active in sports at school and Steven who recently graduated from Michigan Tech. We also have our blue heeler/collie mix, Ace.
- What do you love about the town you work in?
- I love the beautiful views of the Little Traverse Bay here in downtown Petoskey. There are trails, parks and shopping in the area. I also love all the festivals in this area.
