Clarifying New OSHA Record-keeping Requirements: Employers Must Electronically Submit 300A Data - Updated November 2025

Updated: November 2025

Keeping up with OSHA recordkeeping requirements can feel complicated—but we’re here to make it simple. If your business has employees, understanding the electronic submission rules for Form 300A is crucial to stay compliant and avoid penalties.

Who Must Submit Form 300A Electronically Under current OSHA requirements:

  • Establishments with 250 or more employees must submit Form 300A data electronically.

  • Establishments with 20–249 employees in certain high-hazard industries must also submit electronically.

  • Smaller employers and low-risk industries are exempt from electronic submission.

Form 300A summarizes the total number of work-related injuries and illnesses in your workplace each year. Importantly, this form does not include employee names—only anonymized data.

Submission Deadline

Form 300A data must be submitted by March 2 of the year following the calendar year reported. For example:

  • 2024 data is due by March 2, 2025

  • 2025 data will be due by March 2, 2026

Submitting on time helps avoid penalties and potential OSHA audits.

How to Submit

The electronic submission is done through OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA). Many businesses find it helpful to use a recordkeeping tool or partner with a compliance solution provider to ensure the data is accurate and submitted correctly.
